What are CA Exams?
CA exams, or ICAI exams, are among the toughest exams in India and are conducted by the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India. The CA examination includes three levels: foundation, intermediate, and Final. After passing these three exams, students will get an ICAI membership and become CAs. Levels of ICAI CA Exams:
CA Foundation : It is the first step to becoming a CA.The exam for the CA Foundation course is conducted twice a year, in June and December, by the ICAI. Students have to pass the 12th grade or an equivalent exam from a recognized board to enter the CA Foundation. Also, commerce stream students must score at least 50% in class.
CA Intermediate: CA Intermediate is a second level, consisting of two groups with four subjects in each group. To sit for the CA Inter Exam, students need to clear the CA Foundation Exam, or they have to be graduates.
CA foundation route: To register through this route, students must pass the CA foundation exam with 50% aggregate marks and 40% marks in each subject. Students who complete their graduation in any stream can directly apply for CA at the intermediate level. Eligibility criteria for this route are 55% marks for commerce students and 60% marks for science students in their graduation.
CA Final : is the last step in the journey of becoming a CA. To be eligible for the CA final level, students need to pass both groups of the CA inter-level and complete at least 2.5 years of articleship training under a certified firm. The CA final Level also has two groups, and each group has four papers.
